Charles Richard, 89, of Dieppe, NB, passed away on Thursday, December 10th, 2020, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center surrounded by his family.
Born December 20th, 1930 in Atholville, N.B, and raised in St-Raphael, P.E.I.
He was the son of the late Augustin and the late Théodosie (née: Arsenault) Richard.
Charles had worked on the construction of St George Foods (Moncton). Upon completion of the building he became a butcher with them for a total of 45 years (Atlantic Wholesalers). He was also a member of the Club d’Age d’Or, Dieppe.
He is survived by three daughters: Claudette (Rej) Lanteigne of Truro, N.S., Diane (Mike) Myers and Lise Richard both of Dieppe; his three sons: Robert (Dianne Gosselin) of Dieppe, Jean-Guy (Charline Cormier) of Sherbrooke, QC and Paul (Lise Page) of Dieppe; his two sisters: Léonie (late Wilfred Gallant) of Mont-Carmel and Rita (Paul-Émile Boudreau) Arsenault of Dieppe; his brother, René (Sylvina Arsenault) Richard of Wellington P.E.I.; his sister-in-law, Aline Richard (Arsenault) of Wellington P.E.I.; his six grandchildren: Marc-André(Tania Roy), Jacqueline (Adam Kennedy), Dominick (Daniella Bibeau), Marc (Mélanie Paulin), Justin (Martine Melanson) and Louis; his two great grandchildren: Samuel and Mégane; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Antoinette (nee: Gallant) 2013 and three brothers: Sylvère, André (late Evelyn Finnan) and Johnny.
Masks are mandatory and social distancing must be respected.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe (857-1901), on Saturday, December 19th, 2020 from 9 am to 11 am.
A private service by invitation will be held.

Interment in Notre Dame du Calvaire Cemetery.
Donations to the CHU Dumont Foundation Palliative Care or the Canadian Red Cross would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Charles Richard, 89 ans, de Dieppe, N.-B., est décédé jeudi le 10 décembre 2020 au Centre hospitalier universitaire Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont entouré de sa famille.
Né le 20 décembre, 1930 à Atholville, N.-B., et élevé à St-Raphaël, I.P.É., il était le fils de feu Augustin et de feu Théodosie (née Arsenault) Richard.
Charles avait travaillé à la construction de St George Foods (Moncton). Une fois le bâtiment terminé, il est devenu boucher avec eux pendant 45 ans (Atlantic Wholesalers). Il était également membre du Club d’Age d’Or de Dieppe.
Il laisse dans le deuil trois filles : Claudette (Rej) Lanteigne de Truro N.-É., Diane (Mike) Myers et Lise Richard tous deux de Dieppe; ses trois fils : Robert (Dianne Gosselin) de Dieppe, Jean-Guy (Charline Cormier) de Sherbrooke, QC et Paul (Lise Page) de Dieppe; ses deux sœurs : Léonie (feu Wilfred Gallant) de Mont-Carmel et Rita (Paul-Émile Boudreau) Arsenault de Dieppe; son frère, René (Sylvina Arsenault) Richard de Wellington, I.P.É.; sa belle-sœur, Aline Richard (Arsenault) de Wellington, I.P.É.; ses six petits-enfants : Marc-André (Tania Roy), Jacqueline (Adam Kennedy), Dominick (Daniella Bibeau), Marc (Mélanie Paulin), Justin (Martine Melanson) et Louis; ses deux arrière-petits-enfants : Samuel et Mégane; ainsi que plusieurs nièces et neveux.
Outre ses parents, il est prédécédé par son épouse Antoinette (née : Gallant) 2013; ses trois frères : Sylvère, André (feu Evelyn Finnan) et Johnny.
Les masques sont obligatoires et la distanciation sociale doit être respectée.
Les visites auront lieu à la Maison funéraire Chartersville, 363, rue Amirault, Dieppe (857-1901), le samedi 19 décembre 2020 de 9:00am à 11:00 am.
Un service privé sur invitation aura lieu.

L’inhumation au cimetière paroissial de Notre Dame du Calvaire.
Un don à la Fondation CHU Dumont soins palliatifs ou à la Croix-Rouge Canadienne ou au choix du donateur serait grandement apprécié par la famille.
La famille tient à remercier le personnel de la résidence Auberge du Soleil de Dieppe et le département des soins palliatifs du Centre hospitalier universitaire Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont.
