Claude Johnson, 86, of Moncton, NB, formerly of Railway Ave., passed away on Thursday, November 13th 2008 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton, NB.
Born in Moncton, NB, he was the son of the late Adolphe and the late Néra (née: Belliveau) Johnson.
Mr. Johnson retired from C.N. with 44 years of service, was a WW II veteran, having served with the navy, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 6, a former CN Union Representative, a former board member of the Caisse Populaire de Lewisville, former president of the CNIB- Moncton Chapter and a parishioner of Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix Roman Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Rita (née: Leger), to whom he recently celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary; two daughters: Claudette (Léo-Paul) LeBlanc of Moncton and Roseline (Anton) Paulovic of Irishtown; three sons: Michel (Nicole Chevarie) of North Bay, ON, Paul (Cora) and Roger (Val), both of Moncton; three brothers: Jean-Marie (Barbara) of Dieppe, Ronald (late Angeline) of Moncton and Bertrand (Majella) also of Dieppe; one sister-in-law, Marie Johnson of Dieppe; 6 grandchildren: Patrick, Sasha, Nathan, Derek, Natasha and Stefan; one great granddaughter, Kennedy as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one infant son, Arthur; one sister, Blanche and also by two brothers: Alonzo and Emery.
Visitation will be held from Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB 857-1901, on Sunday from 2 to 4 pm.
Funeral mass will be celebrated from Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix Roman Catholic Church, on Monday, November 17th 2008 at 11 am.
Interment in St.-Jacques-le-Majeur Parish Cemetery, Scoudouc, NB.

À l’hôpital régional Dr Georges-L. Dumont, le jeudi 13 novembre, 2008, à l’âge de 86 ans, est décédé Claude Johnson, domicilié à Moncton, N.-B., autrefois de l’avenue Railway.
Né à Moncton, N.-B., il était fils de feu Adolphe et de feu Néra (née: Belliveau) Johnson.
Avant sa retraite, M. Johnson avait travaillé pour le C.N. pour plus de 44 ans, il était Vétéran de la 2ieme guerre mondiale ayant servi avec les forces navales. Il était membre de la Legion Royale Canadienne, Filiale #6, ancien représentant du syndicat au C.N., ancien membre du conseil administratif de la Caisse Populaire de Lewisville, ancien Président du INCA – Chapitre de Moncton et membre de la paroisse Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix.
Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse, Rita (née: Leger), avec qui il a récemment célébré 60 années de marriage; deux filles: Claudette (Léo-Paul) LeBlanc de Moncton et Roseline (Anton) Paulovic d’Irishtown; trois fils: Michel (Nicole Chevarie) de North Bay, ON, Paul (Cora) et Roger (Val), tous deux de Moncton; trois frères: Jean-Marie (Barbara) de Dieppe, Ronald (feu Angeline) de Moncton et Bertrand (Majella) de Dieppe; une belle-soeur, Marie Johnson de Dieppe; 6 petits-enfants: Patrick, Sasha, Nathan, Derek, Natasha and Stefan; une arrière petite-fille, Kennedy ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces.
Outre ses parents, un fils, bébé, Arthur, une soeur, Blanche ainsi que deux frères: Alonzo et Emery l’ont prédécédé dans la tombe.
Les visites auront lieu à la Maison funéraire Chartersville, 363 rue Amirault, Dieppe, NB, (857-1901) le dimanche 16 novembre, 2008 de 14h à 16h.
Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix, le lundi 17 novembre, 2008 à 11h.
L’inhumation au cimetière paroissial Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur, Scoudouc, N.-B.
