Bouctouche, NB – Cléo Bastarache, 75, passed away peacefully at “Manoir St-Jean-Baptiste” in Bouctouche, on Saturday, January 5, 2019.
Born in Bouctouche, NB, he was the son of the late Hector and the late Rita (LeBlanc) Bastarache.
Cléo was a woodsman for most of his life, he also worked at St. Paul Forest Product. His passion was competing in harness racing in Bouctouche and watching it on television as well.
Cléo will be sadly missed by his wife of 53 years, Géraldine (Savoie); his children, Denny Busse of Ontario, Georgina Bastarache (Ronald) of St-Maurice, Denis (Monique) of Notre-Dame, Mario (Sharon) of St-Antoine and Lisa Bastarache of Bouctouche; his siblings, Paul (Alvina) of Moncton and Yvette (late Raymond) of Waltham, Mass; his grandchildren, Mathieu, Isabelle,Nicholas, Danika and Tamara; his great granddaughter, Arielle; his sister-in-law, Yolande of Bouctouche; also by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers, Arthur, Antoine, Adelin (Thérèse) and Omer; three sisters, Ozite, Dora and Marie (Tilmon).
In respect to Cléo’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Funeral service will be at Ste-Anne-de-Kent RC Church in Ste-Anne-de-Kent on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 4:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to “Manoir St-Jean-Baptiste”, “Villa Mgr Désiré Allain” (activities dept.).
