Born in Moncton, NB, he was the son of the late William C. Lutes and Reta Lutes (nee Powers). He was a Carman for CN for many years.

Besides his mother, Reta Lutes; David will be sadly missed by his spouse, Gail Dryden; by his son, Lloyd (Melanie) and their son, Owen; by his step children; by his brother, Neil (Anne); by his sisters, Belinda Copp (Lewis Jardine), Wendy Newman-Carter and Beth Roundell (Rob); also by several grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

David was predeceased by his father, William C. Lutes.

As per request there will be no visitation at the funeral home or funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, donations to The Friends of the Moncton Hospital, Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
