Born in Scoudouc, NB, he was the son of the late Stanislas and the late Laudia (Dallaire) Melanson.
Prior to his retirement, Donald worked with Fagan Brothers Contractors. He had a passion for music, especially playing is mandolin “Au Jam de la HA” every Wednesday night for many years.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 49 years, Irma (Melanson); his sons: Jean and Serge (Jessica Fougère), both of Scoudouc; his grandsons: Aaron and Marco; his sisters: Greta Hayman of Moncton, Sylvia Melanson (Paul) of Scoudouc, Linda Cormier (late George) and Alina Kent, both of Moncton; his brother, Pat Melanson (Barbara) of Ontario; the extended Melanson family, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In respect of his wishes, no visitation or funeral service will be held.
In memory of Donald, a donation to the CHU-Dumont or Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundations “Oncology” can be made.
A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont and Moncton Hospital for the excellent and tender care given to Donald.
