E.R.Joseph Dupuis, 91, who resided at 112 Murphy Avenue, Moncton, passed away at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital on Sunday, June 8th 2008.
Born in St.-Anselme, he was the son of the late Thomas and the late Annie (née: Landry) Dupuis.
Mr. Dupuis was educated at St. Joseph University.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the Royal Canadian Air Force for 5 ½ years. For two years of this time, he served in the Middled East as a Flying Officer under the Royal Air Force. After he was transferred to Lion Squadron 427 # 6 Bomber Group based in York. He was on his 39th, trip of his second tour of operations, when peace was declared.
After his discharge, he enrolled at the University of New Brunswick and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. After graduation, he was employed in Dolbeau, Arvida and Shawinigan with the Aluminum Company of Canada. While employed in Arvida, he was Commanding Officer of the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Unit (Reserve).
He spent thirteen years outside of Canada, seven in Guyana, South America and the rest in Guinée, West Africa, Pakistan and Madagascar. While a consultant on a Hydro Electric Project in Madagascar, he represented Canada, reporting to the Canadian Ambassador in Dar-es-Salaam.
He was a Life Member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec, a Life Member of the Professional Engineers of New Brunswick, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and RCAF (Reserve).
He is survived by his wife, Gladys; two daughters: Annette Zuckerman (Sol) of Montreal and Mary Dupuis of Toronto; three grandchildren, one sister, Leona of Port Elgin and also a brother, Lorenzo of Greenfield Park, Quebec.
By request, no visitation.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at the St.-Anselme Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 11th 2008 at 2 pm.
Interment in the family plot of the St.-Anselme Parish Cemetery, Dieppe, NB.

Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse, Gladys; deux filles: Annette Zuckerman (Sol) de Montréal et Mary Dupuis de Toronto; trois petits-enfants: une souer, Leona de Port Elgin ainsi qu’un frère, Lorenzo de Greenfield Park, Quebec.
Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Saint-Anselme, le mercredi 11 juin, 2008 à 14h.
