Grand-Barachois, NB – Edgar Melanson, 62, passed away peacefully at Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton, on Saturday, July 22, 2017, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Grand-Barachois, NB, he was the son of Raymond and the late Anna (Babineau) Melanson.
Besides his father, Edgar is survived by his three brothers, Gérald (Louise) of Grand-Barachois, Donald (Claudette) of Shediac and Paul (Cindy) of Grand-Barachois; his five sisters, Rita Kervin (Lindsay) of Moncton, Eva Brun (Norbert) of Shediac, Jeanne Melanson (Gilles Morissette) of Rimouski, QC, Fernande Cormier (Roger) and Seneka Melanson (Lloyd Belliveau) both of Grand-Barachois; his sister-in-law, Odette Melanson of Grand-Barachois; also by several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides his mother, he was predeceased by his brother, Maurice.
Visitations will be at Passage in Shediac Bridge, on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 from 7 to 9 pm. There will be no visitation on Wednesday morning. Funeral service will be held at St-Henri de Barachois RC Church in Grand-Barachois on July 26, 2017 at 10:30 am
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
