Born in Dieppe, she was the daughter of the late Edouard "Ned" and Marie (Petitpas) LeBlanc.
Mrs Blanchard began her career as a teacher, worked at Assomption Place and retired from the Residence du Marais nursing home. Known for her laughter and caring heart, she always placed children first. She loved: walking, dancing, baking, the beach, Kouchibouguac, Elvis, Pepsi and chocolate.
Elianne will be sadly missed by her husband of 49 years, André "Andy" Blanchard; her two sons, Maurice Dupuis (Carole) and John Blanchard both of Moncton; her two daughters, Lynne Blanchard (Philippe Thériault) of Dieppe and Christine O’Neill (Mike) of Moncton; her brother, Guy LeBlanc (Maida) of Moncton; her three sisters, Diana Blainey (Vaughan) of Gagetown, Ida LeBlanc of Moncton and Shirlee LeBlanc of Dieppe; her five grandchildren, Natalie, Erin, Gabriel, Aisaulé, Alex; also by her in-laws, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Edouard "Sonny"; her two sisters, Thérèse and Dorice.
Visitation will be held at Passage Funeral Chapel, 625 Mountain Road (corner West Lane), Moncton on Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. There will be no visitations on Friday morning. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Sainte-Thérèse de l’Enfant-Jésus RC Church, 160 Ste-Thérèse Street, Dieppe on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 11 am.
Donations to the Alzheimer Society Research Program of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
