Betty was born at Carter’s Point, New Brunswick July 29, 1922. She was one of seven children of Arnold Linwood Lennan and Elizabeth Forsythe (Dunnett).
Betty joined the RCAF Wrens in 1943 and served three years before marrying John (Jack) Hugh Pinnell in 1946.
She was a seamstress and homemaker who was very involved in charitable work at home and abroad. Her generosity was felt by many.
She is survived by her children Nancy Marie (Loraine), Donald John (Ann) and Brian Scott (Darlene), her eight grandchildren Ron, Lisa, Sarah, Sherry, Jeffrey, Susan Amy and Jackie as well as many great grandchildren.
Betty was predeceased by her loving husband Jack; her son Allan and grandson Shawn.
Betty dedicated her life to her family, her church and the service of others. She touched the hearts of all she met across this country. She left this world the same way she lived her life – with humility and grace.
A memorial service will be held at St Martins in the Woods Anglican Church, Shediac Cape, N.B. on Monday April 7, 2014 at 11am, reception to follow.
Interment will be at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Auburn, Nova Scotia in the coming summer.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to one of her favourite organizations, Doctors Without Borders.
