Shediac River, NB – Ella Poirier, 82, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre, on Monday, March 28, 2016, after a sudden illness.
Born in Scoudouc, NB, she was the daughter of the late Albénie and Velma (Gaudet) Bourque.
Ella was such an amazing mother, grandmother, mother-in-law and friend. Anyone should feel honored to have had the privilege of knowing her. She left us with so many meaningful memories and footprints in all our hearts. She had such a way of making everyone feel special in her own individual way. We aren’t able to find words powerful enough to describe how much of an amazing lady she was.
Ella will be sadly missed by her three sons, Maurice (Alice), Émile (Denise) and Gérald (Ginette) all of Shediac River; her four daughters, Marie Nemeth (John) of Shediac River, Cécile Freiberg (Mike) of Fort Myers, Florida, Murielle Gallant (Raymond) and Élise Poirier (Régis) both of Shediac River; her brother, Maurice (Rose-Marie) of Scoudouc; her eleven grandchildren, John Jr., Joanne, Carol, Chris, Josh, Isabelle, Caleb, Holly, Lynn, Mathieu and Julie; her two great grandchildren, Jonos and Sofia; her lifelong friend, Carmella Gallant; also by several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ulysse (2003); one sister, Marie; one grandson, Maxandre and one infant daughter.
In keeping with Ella’s wishes there will be no visitation and no funeral service. A graveside service will be held at a later date at La Visitation RC Cemetery in Grande-Digue.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Chu Dumont Foundation, "Fonds de Bourses de Grande-Digue" or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
