Dieppe, NB – Father Donat Ola Robichaud, 95, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton, on Thursday, March 28, 2019.
Father Ola studied at the Saint-Joseph College in Memramcook as well as at the Seminar in Halifax, NS. He was ordained priest on April 30, 1950 in St-Charles by Bishop Norbert Robichaud. He was vicar in Cap-Pelé from 1950 to 1951, in St-Louis-de-Kent from 1951 to 1951, in Shediac from 1951 to 1952, in Richibouctou from 1952 to 1956, at the Moncton Cathedral from 1956 to 1956 and in Lewisville from 1956 to 1957. He became priest in Collette from 1957 to 1967 and in Richibouctou-Village from 1967 to 1976. He retired in 1976.
Born in St-Charles, NB, he was the son of the late Joseph and the late Philomène Robichaud (nee Daigle).
Father Ola will be sadly missed by his sister, Dolores Dupuis of Montreal, QC; by three nieces and many friends.
Visitations will be held at Passage Funeral Chapel (625 Mountain Rd, corner West Lane, Moncton), on Sunday, March 31st, 2019 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral service will be held at Christ-Roi RC Church in Moncton on Monday, April 1st, 2019 at 11:00 am. There will be no visitation on Monday, April 1st, 2019.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the St-Antoine-Padoue RC Church in Richibouctou-Village or to a charity of your choice.
