Ferdinand Malenfant, 87, of Embrum, ON, passed away peacefully at his residence, with his family at his side, on Monday, July 4th, 2005.
Born in Dieppe, NB, he was the son of the late Ferdinand J. and the late Annie (née: Downing) Malenfant.
Mr. Malenfant was a former president and director of the Dieppe Industrial Park, a chairman of the Central Maritime Industrial Commission and a past president of IDAC. He was a long time member and past president of both the Lion’s Club of Lachute, QC and Dieppe, NB. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus “Council # 1310”.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lorraine (née: Bourgeois); two daughters: Marilyn (Carl) Ault of Lunenburg, ON and Jane Wood of Toronto, ON; three sons: Dennis (Gail) of Toronto, Michael (Carol) of Pincourt, QC and David (Natalie) of Ucel France; three sisters: Geneva Fleck of Moncton, Jeannette (Clem) Roy of Dieppe and Anna (Neil) Michaud of Cap-Pelé; three brothers: Joseph (Rita) of Moncton, William “Bill” and Paul, both of Dieppe; 15 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren as well as several niece as nephews.
He was predeceased by six brothers: George, Jean, Edgar, Gerald, Louis and Charlie.
Funeral mass will be celebrated from Ste Thérèse Roman Catholic Church on Friday, July 15th, 2005 at 11 am. Reception will follow. Interment in Notre Dame du Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe, NB.
