Grand-Barachois, NB – Gaston Lestage, 94, passed away peacefully at the Villa Providence in Shediac, on Friday, April 18, 2014.
Born in St-Venant-de-Hereford, QC on September 22, 1919, he was the son of the late Alexis and the late Alice (Mongeau) Lestage.
He served overseas during the Second World War as lieutenant-Major. He will be remembered for his passion for adventure and travel and the values he instilled in his children and surroundings.
Gaston will be sadly missed by the mother of his children, Jeanne (Boucher) Lestage; his two sons, Marc (Irène) and Georges (Georgette) both of Grand-Barachois; his three daughters, Joanne Leger (Léopold) of Shediac, Judith Lestage of Moncton and Michelle LeBlanc (Eric) of Cormier-Village; his nine grandchildren, Lynn, Denis, Joanne, Louise, Rachelle, Rebecca, Renelle, Andrée and Daniel; his five great grandchildren, Janique, Josée, Chase, Estelle and Eric; also by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Jean (Bill) and his two sisters, Claire and Georgette.
In respect to Gaston’s wishes, there will be no visitations and no funeral service.
