1930 – 2021
Shediac River, NB – The founder and owner of Bastarache Auto Salvage of Shediac River, Mr. George Bastarache, passed away peacefully at his residence, on Monday, July 19, 2021, at the age of 91 years old.
He was the son of the late Damien Bastarache and the late Marie Richard. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Gloria Bastarache, born Babineau (married 66 years); to his four children: Hélène Burke (Rainer Wellige), Pauline (Charles Bourgeois), Monique (Guy Babineau) and Ronald Bastarache; to his seven grandchildren: Julie, Luc, Melanie, Erika, Jérémie, Miguel and Gaétan.
He will also be missed by his brothers and sisters: Néri, Lucie, Germaine, Ovila and Paul-Emile; brother-in-law Joseph Poirier, sister-in-law Edith Bastarache, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he now rests with his brothers: Léandre, Gérard, Léo-Paul and his sister Albertine.
This great visionary, hard-working and entrepreneur, has devoted himself completely for more than fifty years to his local, provincial and national business in the recovery of damaged auto parts. During his youth, he worked as a lumberjack and salesman for Stanley products. In 1950 he moved to Sudbury, Ontario to work at the INCO nickel mine; as well as the management of a gas station before the development of his large company still well managed by his four children and other employees with dedication and efficiency in their customer service. Congratulations on these great corporate successes. You will be a model for other entrepreneurs with all your efforts, ideas, sacrifices and your long hours given to the well-being of your business. As the proverb says so well: "You reap what you sow"!
