St-Thomas-de-Kent, NB – Gérald Léger, 53, passed away suddenly at the Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital in Ste-Anne-de-Kent, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, October 16, 2011.
Born in St-Thomas-de-Kent on October 30, 1957, he was the son of the late Lucien (1988) and Rosée (LeBlanc) (1996) Léger.
Gérald was the proud founder and owner of St-Thomas Fish Market. He also owned the Fruits de mer/St-Thomas Seafood at the Moncton airport.
Gérald will be sadly missed by his wife Marie (Dallaire); his two daughters, Stéphanie (Ian Girard) of Dieppe and Marie-Josée (Adam Boudreau) of St-Thomas-de-Kent; his two sisters, Lucille LeBlanc (late Paul) of Cocagne and Hermine Caissie (Jean-Paul) of St-Thomas-de-Kent; his godmother, Élise LeBlanc; his godchildren, Jean-Guy LeBlanc and Josée LeBlanc; his mother-in-law, Madelaine Dallaire; also an uncle and several cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and friends.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by an infant sister, Marie, a niece, Nathalie Dallaire and his father-in-law, Telex Dallaire.
Visitations will be held at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Wednesday, October 19 from 7 to 9 pm and on Thursday, October, 20 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held at the St. Jean Baptiste RC Church in Bouctouche on Friday, October 21 at 4 pm. No visitations on Friday. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery.
Donations to the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Cancer Dept., Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital, Clément Cormier Scholarship Funds or to the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
