Cocagne, NB – Gerard LeBlanc, 87, passed away peacefully at the Veteran’s Health Centre in Moncton, on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, after a sudden illness.
Born in Cocagne, NB on March 7, 1926, he was the son of the late Tilmon and the late Regina (Babineau) LeBlanc.
He was a veteran of the Second World War and the Korean War. He was also a member of the Knight of Columbus.
Gerard will be sadly missed by his second wife, Sarah (Belliveau) LeBlanc; his five sons, Vincent (Jessica) of Greenwood, NS, Robert (Cindy) of Cocagne, Daniel (Chrissy) of Grande-Digue, Eugène of Shediac and Jean-Luc (Dorine) of Cap-Pelé; his three daughters, Monique LeBlanc of Cocagne, Lynn Leger (Bernard) of Grande-Digue and Alicia LeBlanc (George) of Shediac; his brother, Aristide (Carmelle) of Grande-Digue; his seven sisters, Géraldine Hébert (Yvon) of Grande-Digue, Rita Belliveau (Alban), Anise Leger (Eddie) both of Moncton, Marie Cormier (Gerald), Azélie Williams (Uris) both of St-Antoine, Florida Richard (Armand) of Cocagne and Annette Johnson (late Harvey) of Campbellton; also by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Eva Jaillet (2001); his daughter, Patricia Arsenault (2014); two brothers, Henri and Eric; one infant brother, Henri; one sister, Lina.
Visitations will be at the St-Pierre-de-Cocagne RC Church slumber room in Cocagne on Friday, February 7, 2014 from 9 am until time of funeral at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
