Moncton, NB – Gérène Léger, 90, passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital, on Saturday, May 4, 2013, after a brief illness.
Born in Moncton, NB on August 4, 1922, she was the daughter of the late William and Ida (Melanson) Drisdelle.
Gérène is survived by her three sons, Gérard (Phyllis) of Moncton, Emery (late Géraldine Nowlan) of Gatineau, QC and Bernard of Moncton; her daughter, Paulette Fougère (Jean-Pierre) of Dieppe; her twin brother, Emery of Moncton and her brother, Gérard (Marie-Jeanne) of Montreal, QC; her sister, Lorraine (late Edgar Surette) of Gardner Mass.; her four grandchildren, Christien, Natalie, Janelle and Brigitte; her two great grandchildren, Calix and Jassim; also by several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Emile; her three brothers, Edgar, Alban, Clarence; her sister, Olive. .
Visitations will be at Passage Funeral Chapel, 625 Mountain Road, Moncton, on Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 9 to 10:30 am. Funeral service will be held at the Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix RC Church (87 Murphy Ave) in Moncton on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 11 am. Reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stoke Foundation or to the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
