Gladys Elaine Armstrong Dupuis, 89, passed away on Sunday, April 12th, 2009 in Toronto, ON, where she had recently moved to be closer to her family.
Born in Letete, NB, she was the daughter of the late Burton and the late Grace (née: Stewart) Armstrong.
Mrs. Dupuis attended high school in St. George and studied at the Fredericton Teachers’ College, Mt. Allison University and Bishop’s University. She was a “born” teacher, dedicated to her students and a firm believer in the power of education. Her teaching career spanned 24 years, beginning in Deer Island and Grand Manan, NB, and included Shawinigan Falls and Arvida, QC. Gladys also enjoyed many years living abroad in Guyana, South America; Guinea, West Africa; Pakistan and Madagascar, where her husband was consultant for the Aluminium Company of Canada. Upon retirement, Gladys and Joseph returned home and for many years enjoyed the company of friends and family in Shediac, their winter home in Port Charlotte, Florida and more recently at the Robichaud apartments on Murphy Avenue, Moncton.
She is survived by two daughters: Mary Dupuis of Toronto, ON and Anna (Sol) Zuckerman of Montreal, QC; three grandchildren: Sasha, Ariel and Rae-Dawn Zuckerman.
She was predeceased by her husband Joseph in 2008; two sisters: Margaret Richardson and Helen Boxall.
Funeral service in the summer.
Interment in St.-Anselme Parish Cemetery, Dieppe, NB.

Mme Dupuis était enseignante retraité, elle aimait la compagnie de famille et amies, à leurs demeures à Shediac, en Floride et à Moncton.
Elle laisse dans le deuil deux filles: Mary Dupuis de Toronto, ON et Anna (Sol) Zuckerman de Montreal, QC; 3 petits-enfants: Sasha, Ariel et Rae-Dawn Zuckerman.
Son époux, Joseph en 2008 ainsi que deux soeurs: Margaret Richardson et Helen Boxall l’ont précédée dans la tombe.
Le service sera annoncé cette été.
