Jardineville, NB – Gordon Hebert, 65, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre, on Monday, May 20, 2013, after a lengthy battle with Early Onset Alzheimer’s Disease.
Born in Montreal, QC on May 24, 1947, he was the son of Marie (Arsenault) Hebert and the late Edgar Hebert.
He was well liked and respected in his work career. He traveled all over the world as a representative for the Massey Ferguson company and was proud to be called a “Massey Man”. He loved sports and was an avid hockey player in his youth, an avid golfer and reader. He loved his family, children and grandchildren.
Gordon will be sadly missed by his mother, Marie Hebert of Rexton; his childhood sweetheart and common-law spouse, Carolyn (Hermitage) Harris; his two sons, Darrick (Kelly) of Mundleville, NB and Dana (Tanya) of Brooks, AB; his daughter, Pam Cottrell (Barry) of Edmonton, AB; his stepson, Jason Harris (Dr. Amanda Glasgow) of Wollongong, Australia; his four brothers, Wayne (Simonne), Jardineville, NB, Harvey (Jill) of Rexton, Myles (Cathy) of Halifax, NS and Timmy (Donna) of Rexton; his two sisters, Eileen Leger (Bob Bourgeois) of Riverview and Cathy McDermid (Lyle) of Spruce Grove, AB; his six grandchildren; Paige, Keeton, Dawson, Katelyn, Hayden and Cullen; his former wife, June (Hudson) Hebert; also by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Beside his father, he was predeceased by his infant sister, Marie-Mai and his grandson, Colton.
In respect to Gordon’s wishes there will be no visitations. Funeral service will be held at the Immaculate Conception RC Church in Rexton on Monday, May 27 , 2013 at 10:00 am. A reception will follow at the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, donation to the Alzheimer’s Association, the Parish Cemetery or to the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
