Shediac – It is with deep sadness that the family of Guy M. Poirier, of Hallandale, Florida and formerly of Shediac Bridge, announces his passing at the Aventura Hospital, Hospice Care Unit in Aventura, Florida on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at the age of 81.
Born in Shediac Bridge, NB, he was the son of the late Léandre and the late Victorine (Richard) Poirier.
Guy will be sadly missed by his three sons: Curtis of Edmonton, AB, Conrad (Carla) of Edmonton, AB, Guy (Junior) of Australia and by his daughter Bridgette of Edmonton, AB; also by his three brothers: Dismas (Thérèse) of Waltham, MA, Ola (late Dolores) of Welland, ON and Bernard (Alphonsine) of Grande-Digue, NB; his four sisters: Angeline (Louis) LeBlanc of Shediac, NB, Bernadette of Burlington, MA, Maria Young (George) of Calgary, AB and Marguerite Boucher (Donald) of Bellingham, MA; his four grandchildren and by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and his wife Louise (Yethon) Poirier, Guy was predeceased by two brothers, Armand, René and four sisters, Sr. Berthilde, Sr. Edith, Jeanne d’Arc and Claudette.
Visitations will be at Passage in Shediac Bridge, NB on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will take place at La Visitation RC Church in Grande-Digue, NB on Thursday, July 19 at 11 am. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery.
Donations to the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital Foundation ,Oncology Deptartment or to the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
