En Souvenir De
HARVEY E. LAROCQUE

Larocque, Harvey E. Born March 16,1934, passed away February 12, 2013

A sudden passing at the Moncton Hospital the morning of February 12, 2013 took Harvey from the family and friends who cherished him deeply. The love which surrounded him was matched only by the devotion he demonstrated to that family in turn.

Harvey – known also as Dad, Grampa, and Papa – is survived by his wife, Arlene Larocque, his children Joanne Murray (Michael), Christina Hirtle (Eldon), Patrick Larocque (Nadine), Stacey Pringle (Steve), Garett Pringle (Mark) and Courtney Pringle Carver (Shawn); his grandchildren, Jaclyn, Logan, Ryan, Dylan, Madison and Graham, and his great-grandson Liam. He was pre-deceased by his first wife of 32 years, Katherine, his daughter, Deborah and son, Michael.

Harvey was born in 1934 in Sudbury, Ontario, a city he loved and which was the subject of frequent reminiscence. His adult working life carried him to Atlantic Canada, a place he loved with equal fervor. Harvey was a sales representative with Hayes Dana, a role which allowed him to travel to all corners of the region before he ultimately planted his roots in Moncton, New Brunswick.

An early retirement provided Harvey with time for the things he loved most in life: golfing, camping with family, doting on his two dogs – ever by his side – and keeping a faithful eye on current events. Perhaps most importantly, Harvey spent his time giving, always placing the needs of others over those of his own. Despite challenges with his health, Harvey was a dedicated volunteer for such organizations as the Canadian Cancer Society, Mobile One and Moncton Headstart. His generosity of spirit was boundless and greatly appreciated by those in the community he so faithfully served.

Harvey’s absence will be felt each day; however, his admirable character and spirit will serve as lasting inspiration to all those who knew him.

A celebration of life will be held at Chartersville Funeral Home (363 Amirault St., Dieppe, N.B., (506) 857-1901) on Friday, February 15, at 2 p.m. For those who wish, donations to the family would be appreciated.
