En Souvenir De
Helen O’Brien
février 13, 2017

Shediac, NB – It is with profound sadness, mixed with a measure of relief that our mother passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017 at the Veterans Home in Moncton, surrounded by her loving family, after a brief illness.

Born in Richibouctou-Village, NB, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Rosanne (Thibodeau) Babineau.

Helen will be sadly missed by her four sons, Ronald (Judy) of Victoria, BC, Gary (Lina) of Haute-Aboujagane, Rick of Moncton and Leonard of Shediac; her daughter, Kathy (late Craig) of Lindell Beach, BC; her sister, Aurella Vienneau (late Armand) of Shediac River; her two grandchildren, Naomi and Katie; her great grandson, Gavin Hallett; also by several nephews and nieces.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Leonard; six brothers, Adélard, Sylvio, Alban, Henry, Aldéric and Raymond; one sister, Fredda; one grandson, Corey; also by a very special friend, Lindsay Buck.

Helen’s surviving family would like to extend an invitation to all friends and relatives, to celebrate and remember the life and times of our amazing Mother and sister for a “Celebration of Life” gathering, on Sunday, July 2nd, 2017 between the hours of 1:00 – 3:00 pm at the location of the Passage Funeral Co-operative, 3754 Route 134, Shediac Bridge, NB E4R 1T3 (506) 532-1050. It was Mother’s passive wishes that this would not be a religious / priest or clergy event, and so there will not be a receiving line or traditional service. We would really like to make this gathering occasion an uplifting “celebration” of our Mother Helen’s long life. Not formal or sad – rather, a gathering where extended family (aunts, uncles, cousins far and wide) and her many friends, acquaintances and volunteer partners, can connect, laugh and reminisce to share good memories about the life of a truly awesome woman.

While gone in body, she will forever live on in spirit and in our hearts. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

Our mother was a long time and regular supporter of the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation and donations there in lieu of flowers would be much appreciated.
