Born in Scoudouc, NB, she was the daughter of the late Lucien and the late Elizabeth Bourque (nee Babin).

Hélène loved her family and family gatherings, especially enjoyed spending time with her grand children and great grand children. Believed in hard work and she was an incredibly organized. Hélène was the first one to volunteer when something needed to be done. She enjoyed knitting, needlepoint, puzzles and traveling. Worked at Statistic Canada, Pizza Delight in Scoudouc and the DSS in Shediac.

Hélène will be sadly missed by her husband, Laurie Melanson of Scoudouc; by her daughter, Jocelyne Brown (Rick) of Riverview; by her three sons, Bernard (Kathy) of Vancouver, Marcel of Scoudouc, Francis (Lori) of Edmonton, AB; by four her sisters, Edith Nowlan (late Emery) of Edmonton, Jeanette Rancourt (late Gaston) of Montreal, QC, Rolande Gallant (Roger) of Grande-Digue, Alice Cormier (late Roméo) of Shediac; by her two brothers, Edgar Bourque (late Hélène) of Moncton, Ola Bourque (Estelle) of Dieppe; by her four grandchildren, Mathieu, Chrystal, Ronnie, David; by her three great grandchildren, Ethan, Jazmyn, Jada; also by several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her three sisters, Henriette Pelletier, Lorraine Sylvester, Georgia Bourgeois, by her two granddaughters, Shawna Atcheson, Jennifer Brown.

As per Hélène`s wishes there will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral mass will be held at the St-Jacques-le-Majeur RC Church in Scoudouc on Saturday, February 21st, 2015 at 11:00am. A reception will be held at the Golden Age Club in Scoudouc following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinson Society, Vestiaire Saint-Joseph, Shediac, Villa Providence or to donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
