Henry Chiasson, 81, formerly of Lakeside Estate, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 5th 2008 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital.
Born in Dalhousie, NB, on October 13th, 1926, his family later resided in Rogersville.
He was the son of the late Antime Chiasson and the late Bernadette Chiasson, both of Caraquet.
For the last seven months of his illness, he resided with his niece Angela. We give thanks to God for such a kind and gentle man. He was a Christian and every night before falling asleep, his niece Angela would read to him a different passage from the Bible. He had a passion for music, when his strength permitted, he would play the fiddle, the piano or share with us numerous stories about his youth.
He is survived by one son, Terry (Bonnie); two grandchildren as well as by several nieces and nephews.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family having been pre-deceased by two brothers: Léo and Alfred and also by two sisters: Délima and Yvonne.
Visitation will be held from Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB 857-1901, on Tuesday, July 8th, 2008 from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm and also on Wednesday from 9 am until time of service.
Funeral service will be celebrated at the Chartersville Funeral Home Chapel, on Wednesday, July 9th, 2008 at 10 am.
Interment in Notre-Dame-du-Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe NB.
The family would like to thank Steve Daley, a Christian friend who visited and prayed daily with Henry. We also give thanks to Pastor Ron Nelson of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, to Father Richard Oconnell of the Anglican Church of Shediac Cape; to Judson Cassidy of the Beausejour Regional Health and to Dr. Joseph Teakles for all their encouragement to both Henry and the family.

Né à Dalhousie, N.-B., il était fils de feu Antime Chiasson et de feu Bernadette Chiasson.
Il laisse dans deuil un fils, Terry (Bonnie); deux petits-enfants ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces.
Outre ses parents, deux frères; Léo et Alfred ainsi que deux soeurs: Délima et Yvonne l’ont précédé dans la tombe.
Les visites auront lieu à la Maison funéraire Chartersville, 363 rue Amirault, Dieppe, N.-B., (857-1901) le mardi 8 juillet de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h et le mercredi de 9 h jusqu’à départ.
Les funérailles auront lieu à la chapelle de la Maison funéraire Chartersville, le mercredi 9 juillet, 2008 à 10h.
