Moncton, NB – Ida Leger, 78, passed away on Tuesday, September 27th, 2005 at the Dr. Georges- L. Dumont Hospital. Born in Moncton, NB, on September 3rd, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Henry and the late Marguerite (née: Sivret) Leger.
Ida loved doing crafts, she enjoyed knitting, cooking, bowling, darts and bingo, where she got together with her many friends. She was a member of T.O.P.S. and of parishioner of St.-Louis-de-France R.C.C.
Besides her best friend and husband of 58 years Ray, she is survived by two daughters; Jeannine (Ed) Berube of Scoudouc and Doris (Adelard) Ayles of Moncton; three sons: Paul (Fern) and Tony (Peggy), both of Dieppe and Peter at home; 13 grandchildren; Monique and Danny Berube – Kim, Nicole and Monique Leger – Rick, Sabrina and Ray Leger – Jason and Brian Ayles – Christa, Shawn and Jennifer MacDonald; 9 great grandchildren; three sisters: Rita Mitton and Anna Simard, both of Moncton and Rose Calam of Dieppe; brothers-in-law: Jerry and Ronald (Angie) as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one son, George, one daughter, Theresa, one brother, Tony and also by two sisters: Mary and Theresa.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, 857-1901, on Thursday, September 29th, 2005 from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm and also on Friday from 10 am until time of departure. Funeral mass will be celebrated from St.-Louis-de-France Roman Catholic Church, on Friday, September 30th, 2005 at 11 am.
Interment in Notre-Dame du Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe, NB Donations to the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital Foundation “Oncology Unit” or the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
