Moncton – Formerly of Cocagne,James Young, 90, passed away peacefully at the Veterans Health Centre, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, after a brief illness.
He was born in England on February 18, 1922.
James was a Second World War Veteran from 1939 to 1945 and was a retired carpenter.
James will be sadly missed by his four sons, Clarence and John, both of Cocagne, Walter (Karen) of Surrey, BC, Richard (Ruth) of Toronto, ON; one daughter, Betty Richard (Léo) of Cocagne; one brother, John of England; one sister Betty Batts of England; five grandchildren, Twyla, Chris, Darryl, Joël and Jérémie; four great grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Marie (Roy) 1998, and one son, James (2008).
As per James wishes, there will be no visitations. A celebration of life will take place at the St. Pierre de Cocagne RC Church on Thursday, February 23rd at 11 am.
The family would like to thank all the staff of the Veterans Health Centre for taking extra special care of James.
Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
