Joan Stevens
August 22th, 1936 ~ March 25th, 2021
Moncton, NB ~ Joan Stevens, 84, passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital, Moncton, surrounded in love by her family, both close by and away, on Thursday March 25th, 2021.
Born in Nelson NB, she was the daughter of the late Allan and Emily (MacKinley) Shaddick.
She grew up in Newcastle, NB where she married the love of her life, Jim, to whom she was married to for 61 years, before he passed away in 2018. They had moved to Moncton with their children. She enjoyed her career at Snap on Tools, and later at Rainbow Paint and Paper. Joan was a member of St. James Anglican Church for many years. Joan was loved by all her family and friends, all of whom will dearly miss her.
Joan is survived by two daughters, Nancy Lovelock (Gary) of Moncton, and Kim Hickey (Bill) of Lakeville Corner and her son, Peter (Sandra), of Moncton. And by her 4 grandchildren, Jenna (Dave) of Ottawa, ON, Megan of St-John, NB, Jimmy (Taylor) of Cole Harbour NS, and Mitchell (Stephanie) of Fredericton; and by her two beloved great grandchildren, Rose and Henry of Ottawa.
Due to the current pandemic, and also honoring Joan’s wishes, there will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. A gravesite service will be held privately for the family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the friends of the Moncton Hospital or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
