Moncton, NB – John Kenneth “Jack” Beers, 80 passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital, Moncton, on Tuesday, February 4th, 2014.

Born in Harcourt, NB on March 28th, 1933, he was the son of the late Sarah Jane Beers.

Jack began his career as a telegrapher in 1952 thence receiving a leave of absence to serve in the R.C.A.F. as an aero engine mechanic returning three years later to CN retiring in 1988 with 36 years’ service. He enjoyed participating in numerous sporting events such as curling, bowling. A former member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 20, Sussex and a member of the CN Pensioner’s where he enjoys a twice weekly friendly game of pool.

Jack is survived by his wife Glenna Mallory of Moncton, his daughter, Pamela Beers of Moncton; his two sons, Donald Mitton of Moncton, John Beers Jr. (Tina) of Harcourt; daughter-in-law, Sherry Eagle of Moncton; his five grandchildren, Elisha (Marty), Matthew (Sheena), Denver (Erin), Geoffrey (Lyndi), Lindsey (Dave); his six great grandchildren, Willow, Lennon, Summer, Lauren, Madeline & Benjamin

Besides his mother, Jack was predeceased by his son Kevin Eagles.

A graveside service will be held at St. Matthews Anglican Cemetery, Harcourt, NB on Saturday, June 14th, 2014 at 2:00pm.

Donations to St. Matthews Anglican Church or St. Matthews Anglican Church Cemetery Fund would be appreciated by the family.
