Lakeburn, NB – Joyce Babin, 80, passed away peacefully at her residence, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, January 5, 2014, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.
Born in New Glasgow, NS on February 13, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Simon and the late Rosée LeBlanc.
She was a loving and faithful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a homemaker, an excellent cook and she was very devoted to her family. She loved socializing with her friends. She was also a member of the Lakeburn Catholic Women’s League.
Joyce will be sadly missed by her husband of sixty years, Anselme (Sam) Babin; her two daughters, Paulette Green (David) of Meadow Brook and Denise Babin of Greater Lakeburn; her two sons, Bernard (Corinne) and Charles (Rhonda) both of Greater Lakeburn; her brother, Norman LeBlanc (Doreen) of Moncton; her two sisters, Pauline Doiron (Lionel) of Moncton and Betty Sonier (late Arthur) of St-Antoine; her four precious grandchildren, Stephanie, Julie, Jessica and Luc; her great granddaughter, Emily; also by several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Terrance (2006).
In respect to Joyce’s wishes, there will be no visitations. Funeral service will be held at the Notre-Dame-de-Lorette RC Church in Lakeburn on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, donation to the ChuDumont Foundation (Oncology Dept) or to the St-Jacques-le-Majeur RC Cemetery in Scoudouc would be appreciated by the family.
