1933 – 2019
Our mother Laura Mae Carey (nee Ozon), of Monarch Hall passed away suddenly on Friday, November 22nd, at the age of 86. She was born in Borden, PEI, daughter to Blanche and William; sister to Ralph, Emma, Keith, Ethel, Frances and her twin Douglas. She was the last surviving member of her family.
Laura’s husband, Raymond Carey predeceased her in 2013. Together they had four children, Joseph (Micheline) of Fredericton, Dawn (Keith) of Toronto, Shaun (Laura) also from Toronto and Heather (Scott) of Moncton; eight grandchildren, Melissa, Michael (Emma), Taryn (Remi), Lauren, Kenda (Andre), Thomas, Kristin, Lauryn and four great grandchildren, Finnegan, Mila, Isla and predeceased by Olivia. Laura is also survived by her sister-in-law, Barbara Ozon; her brothers-in-law, Patrick and Tom Carey (Reta); special family friend, Susan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Wednesday morning bowling, bridge clubs, spending time with the Liberal Ladies as well as her friends, brought joy to Laura’s life. Many thanks to the Parkland community for their friendship and great care provided to Laura over the last 7 years.
Visitation will be held at Passage (625, Mountain road, Corner West Lane, Moncton) on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm, followed by a family gathering in Shediac. Interment will take place in Searletown, PEI at a future date.
Donations may be made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation, Parkinson Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
