It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Laurie Auffrey (formerly of Lewisville) on October 29, 2015 at the age of 88 after a brief illness.
Born and raised in Pré-d’en-Haut, NB, as a youth he worked in lumber camps, dockyards and also on scows transporting gravel and timber on the Petitcodiac River. He was later employed by the New Brunswick Department of Transportation where he retired with 39 years of service. Laurie loved listening to jigs and reels as well as old country music typified by such singers as Wilf Carter and Hank Snow. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, driving his ATV on trails and was most passionate about fishing shad, salmon, bass and sturgeon on his beloved Petitcodiac River. He was a man of strong character and integrity and will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his wife Rita (Villa du Repos), five children: Laurianne, Roger (Florine), Anne-Marie, Louise (Terry) and Raymond (Denise) and his ten grandchildren: Justin, Adrienne, Christine, Sophie, Martin, Julien, Annik, Matthew, Sacha and Desmond.
As requested by the deceased, there will be no service or visitation.

Au Centre hospitalier universitaire Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont de Moncton, le jeudi 29 octobre 2015, à l’âge de 88 ans, est décédé Laurie Auffrey. Il demeurait à Dieppe, autrefois de Lewisville, N.-B.
Avant sa retraite, M. Auffrey avait travaillé pour 39 ans avec le département du transport de la Province du N.-B.
Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse, Rita (Villa du Repos), cinq enfants: Laurianne, Roger (Florine), Anne-Marie, Louise (Terry) et Raymond (Denise), ainsi que ses dix petits-enfants: Justin, Adrienne, Christine, Sophie, Martin, Julien, Annik, Matthew, Sacha et Desmond.
À sa demande, il n’y aura aucune visite ou service funéraire.
À sa mémoire, un don à l’organisme Sentinelles Petitcodiac serait apprécié par la famille.
