Laurie Melanson
1930 ~ 2020
Scoudouc NB – Laurie Melanson, 89, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre, on Sunday, August 2, 2020.
Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late John and the Anne Melanson (born Gallant).
Laurie and his wife of 61 years loved to travel internationally, spend time at their cottage in Cocagne Cape. He also loved boats and aircrafts
Laurie was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He will be sadly missed by his children, Bernard (Lee Landin) of Vancouver, BC, Marcel of Scoudouc, Francis (Lori) of Edmonton, AB and Jocelyne Brown (Rick) of Shediac; his four grandchildren, Mathieu, Chrystal, Ronny (Tiffany) and David (Amanda); his great grandchildren, Ethan, Noelle, Jazmyn, Olivia and Jada.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Hélène (born Bourque); his two granddaughters, Shawna and Jennifer; his sisters, Cora, Alice, Corrine and Leola (at a young age).
As per request, there will be no visitations. Funeral service will be held at St-Jacques-le-Majeur RC Church in Scoudouc, on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at 11 am. Everyone attending the funeral service will be mandated to practice social distancing and wear a face mask. Please bring your own.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association, the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice.
