Léda Melanson, 97, of Villa Providence, Shediac, formerly of Résidence du Marais, Dieppe, passed away on Thursday, February 1st, 2007 at her residence.
Born in St.-Antoine, NB, she was the daughter of the late Sylvain and the late Anne (née: LeBlanc) Gaudet.
She is survived by one daughter, Dora (Anthony) Savoie of Neguac; two sons: Walter (Starr) and Robert (Nadine), both of Moncton; six grandchildren: Joanne, Linda, Belinda, Lisa, Walter Jr. and Terry; 8 great grandchildren: Ashley, Courtney, Dominique, Jocelyne, Stefanie, William, Daniel and Genevieve; one great great granddaughter, McKayla as well as by several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Aubrey in 1967; one son, Edward; five sisters: Marie, Sarah, Eva, Violette and Madelaine and also by four brothers: Georges, Albert, Arthur and Laurent.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, 857-1901, on Sunday, February 4th, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and also on Monday from noon until time of departure. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St.-Anselme Roman Catholic Church on Monday, February 5th, 2007 at 1 pm.
Interment in Notre-Dame du Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe, NB.
