En Souvenir De
Lee Bateman
août 23, 2015

Shediac Cape, NB – Lee Floyd Bateman, 70, passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Sunday, August 23, 2015, after a lengthy battle with multiple myeloma cancer.

Born on Moncton Road, NB, he was the son of the late Harold Wellesley and Mabel Victoria (Duffy) Bateman.

Besides his parents, Lee was predeceased by his wife of 39 years, Linda (Bastian) Bateman and his sister Dora. He will be sadly missed by his children, Amanda Leaman (James) of Riverview, Harold Bateman (Michelle) of Toronto, ON, Benjamin Bateman (Joelle) of Shediac Cape and Clinton Bateman (Sophie) of Cocagne; his much loved grandchildren, Analee and Kenzie (Benjamin) Bateman, Peyton (Clinton) Bateman, Maxwell (Amanda) Leaman and Sydney (Harold) Bateman. He is also survived by his siblings, Cecil Bateman (Noreen) of Osbourne Corner, Ralph Bateman of Sussex, Noreen Johansen (late Peter) of Bellisle Creek, Myrtle Bateman of Shediac Cape and Della Bateman of Shediac Cape; and several nieces and nephews.

In 2005, Lee retired from Canada Post after 33 years. He worked for Eastern Fence for the 5 years prior to that. Lee was a hard worker and could normally be found working on the family farm, working in the woods, helping his children with projects, or playing with his grandchildren. He could fix anything and there was always something that needed to be fixed.

Visitation will be held at St. Martin’s-in-the-Wood Anglican Church, 3394 Route 134, Shediac Cape, on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 from 1 to 3 pm and from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral service will take place at St. Martin’s-in-the-Wood Anglican Church, on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 2 pm. A reception will follow at the Young Smith Hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or blood donations to Canadian Blood Services would be appreciated by the family.
