Moncton, NB – Léola Melanson, 71, passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital, Moncton, on Monday, July 1st, 2013, wife of Philippe Melanson.
Born in Moncton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Lévis and Préscille Cormier (nee Duguay).
Léola is survived by her daughter, Simone Saulnier (Ola) of Notre-Dame; her four sons, Denis (Monique), Gérard (Dorine) both of Cocagne, Gilbert of Belle River, ON, Norman (Nadine) of Dieppe; her four sisters, Aldona Brun (Normand) of Grande Digue, Patricia Henze (Charles) of belle River, ON, Bernice LeBlanc (Léonard) of Moncton, Gisèle Bourque (Marcel) of Cocagne; her two brothers, Philippe Cormier (Louisa) and Victor Cormier (Stella) both of Cocagne; her ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; also by several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Paul; her brother, Gilbert.
In respect to Léola’s wishes, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Louis-de-France, 5 Pleasant Street, Moncton on Thursday, July 4th, 2013 at 4:00 pm
In lieu of flowers, donations to the family or to The Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation (Oncology Dept.) would be appreciated by the family.
