Born in Rouyn-Noranda QC; he was the son of the late Leonard and the late Marie Jeanne (née: Dubuc) Gauvin.
Lionel is survived by his wife of 55 years, Anna (née: Mallet) Gauvin; his only daughter, Joanne Girouard (Noel) of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent; his sons: Claude (Angella) Gauvin of Beaverbrook and Marc Gauvin (Shawna) of Salisbury; his three grandchildren: Denis, Paul and Chantal.
Lionel was predeceased by one son in 2009, Yvan and a brother, Jean Charles of Haileybury, Ontario.
He also leaves to mourn his 2 sisters: Noella Labelle of Belleterre, QC and Helene Gauvin of Montreal, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A very special thank you to the Foyer Saint-Antoine Nurses and staff for the outstanding care, love and tenderness given to our father/husband in the last 8 years. Words cannot express our gratitude to them.
