(Moncton, NB, formerly of St-Norbert) – Lydia Richard, 99, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre, on Tuesday, July 6, 2021.
Born in Madison, Maine, USA, she was the daughter of the late Jean-Baptiste and the late Célina Boucher (nee Maillet).
Lydia will be sadly missed by her children: Fernand (Janice) of NS, Florence Caissie (Gerry) of Bouctouche, Irène Richard of Moncton, Hélène Richard (Conrad) of Dieppe, Denise Thibodeau (J. Maurice Melanson) and Fernande Lirette (Raymond) both of Moncton; her sons-in-law, Rhéal Maillet of Moncton, Maurice Thibodeau of Shediac; her daughter-in-law, Rita Richard of Moncton ; her sister-in-law, Geneva Boucher of St-Antoine; also by 17 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Hubert Richard; some of her children: Aldéo, Anise Maillet, Simone Richard and Marie Richard; her son-in-law, Roméo Caissie;
all her siblings: André, Philippe, Jos, Yvonne, Christine, Catherine, Irène, Hélène, Vitaline and Mathilde.
Visitation will be held at Passage Funeral Chapel (625 Mountain Road, Moncton), on Sunday, July 11, 2021, from 6 pm to 9 pm. There will be no visitation Monday morning.
Funeral service will be held at Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix RC Church (87 Murphy Ave, Moncton), Monday, July 12, 2021 at 11am, with a maximum of 60 people.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the CHU Dumont Foundation (Palliative care) or to donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
