Moncton, NB – Manoranjini Luke, 84, passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital, on Friday, May 8, 2015, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Secunderabad, India, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Jiva R. and Grace (Noah) Luke.
She moved to Canada at a young age. She taught at Harrison Trimble High and later on became a guidance counselor there. She travelled to India many times to escape our winters and stayed with her niece, Florence Michael.
Mano will be sadly missed by her brother, Dr. John J. Luke and especially her niece, Florence Michael both of India and her friends including Sr. Laurina Babineau of Moncton who has helped her immensely; also by her nieces, nephews and cousins from Canada and India.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her two brothers, Raja and Benjamin; her sister, Saro.
In respect of Mano’s wishes, there will be no visitation and no funeral service in Canada. A memorial service will be held in India.
