Born in Moncton, NB, he was the son of George Bastarache of Moncton and Catherine Brun (nee Williams) of Moncton.

Normand worked at Westwood Industries.

Normand will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Brenda Bastarache (nee LeBlanc) of Shediac River; by his daughter, Shelley LeBlanc of Moncton; by his two sons, Dennis Robichaud of Moncton and Harley Bastarache of Shediac River: by his special friend and companion, Diesel, the family dog; he is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Visitations will be at Passage in Shediac Bridge, on Sunday, May 27th, 2018 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm and on Monday, May 28th, 2018 from 1:00pm till the time of funeral. Funeral service will be held at Passage Funeral Chapel, Shediac-Bridge, Monday, May 28th, 2018 at 3:00pm.
