Shediac, – Normand Cormier, 81, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre on Wednesday, October 14th, 2020.
Born in St-Paul-de-Kent, NB, he was the son of the late Arthur and the late Jeanne Cormier (born LeBlanc).
Normand worked for 27 years at Bastarache Auto Salvage.
Normand was a kind hearted, friendly man, extremely generous with all his family and friends. He loved camping, playing bowling and playing washer toss games.
Normand will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 60 years of marriage, Germaine Cormier of Shediac; his son, Roger Cormier (Denise); his two daughters, Jeanne Belliveau (Sylvio) and Lisa Nurse (Ron); his sister, Délia Arsenault (late Marcel); seven grandchildren, Nicole, Luc, Éric, Ashley, Billy, Cameron and Natasha; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Normand was predeceased by his two brothers, Honoré and Alcide and by three sisters, Eugénie, Florine and Lorette.
Visitations will be held at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Monday, November 2nd, 2020 from 2pm to 4pm. A private funeral service will follow at the Chapel at 4pm. Due to the current pandemic guidelines, a maximum of 50 peoples will be able to attend the funeral service and everyone attending the visitation and funeral service will be mandated to wear at mask.
The service will be streamed and can be viewed live on the Facebook page at www.facebook.com/PassageFH for all others to participate from home. (click on yellow link to access page). The service will also remain available on Passage Facebook page following the service.
Donation can be made to the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Palliative care or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Residence O bons soins and the Palliative care of the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont for all the good care and comfort provided to Normand and to his family during the hardest moments. A special thank you to his granddaughter and exceptional nurse, Nicole for all the good care and support she provided.
