Cocagne – Omer Léger, 81, passed away peacefully at the Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital, on Wednesday, September 21, 2011, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Cocagne, he was the son of the late Maxime and Marie-Blanche (Després) Léger.
Omer will be sadly missed by his wife, Thérèse (Allain); his five sons, Paul-Emile (Ida) of Memramcook, Gérard (Solange), Bernard (Joanne), Ronald and Louis (Shoko), all of Cocagne; his four daughters, Léonette Chevarie, Magella Léger, Gloria Léger (François) and Carolle LeBlanc (Gilles), all of Cocagne; one brother, Alcide (late Ozita) of Bouctouche; two sisters, Dorina Arsenault (late Doé) and Doris Cormier (late Eric), both of Cocagne; thirteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; also several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by four sisters, Aline, Rita, Thérèse and Alfreda.
Visitations will be held at the St. Pierre de Cocagne slumber room on Thursday, September 22, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and on Friday, September 23 from 9:30 am until time of the funeral. Funeral service will be at the St. Pierre de Cocagne RC Church on Friday, September 23 at 11 am.Interment will follow at the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Canadian Cancer Society or to the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
