Ovila Zenon Richard
1931 ~ 2019
Moncton, NB – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ovila Richard at the Moncton city hospital on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at the age of 88 years old.
Born in St-Antoine NB, he was the son of the late Hypolite and the late Marguerite Richard born Thibodeau.
Ovila will be sadly missed by two sons, Roger Richard (Brenda) of Dieppe and Maurice Richard (Lisa) of Riverview; by two daughters, Sylvia Leger (Peter) of Moncton and Claudette Melanson (Yvon) of Dieppe; by a step-son, Alphée Fagan (Lorraine) of Mass; by seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and four step-grandchildren; also by several nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by his very special friend, Dorice LeBlanc, and her childrens, Louis, Thérèse, Marie (Claude), Maurice, Normand (Shirley), Francine and Cécile (Norm).
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Béatrice Fagan (1980) as well as his second wife, Doris Saulnier; by four brothers, Albénie, Yvon, Télex and Alfred; also by four sisters, Stella, Angela, Mélina and Herminie.
Ovila worked at Abe Levine & Sons. He loved his time with his family and neighbours on the road travelling with his motor home and enjoyed meeting new people. Ovila had a special love for Christmas, he took pride of his Christmas Display.
Visitations will be held at Passage in Moncton (625, Mountain Road, corner of West Lane) on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 from 1pm until time of Funeral Service at the Chapel at 3pm.
