Cocagne – Previoulsy from Shediac Bridge, Robert Poirier, 92, passed away peacefully at the Foyer Côte d’Or, on Thursday, December 15, 2011, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Shediac Bridge on October 28, 1919, he was the son of the late Albert and Henriette (Thibodeau) Poirier.
He was a veteran in the Second World War and also a previous owner of Alexander’s Cabin in Shediac Bridge.
Robert will be sadly missed by his daughter, Dolorès Maillet (Jean-Paul) of Shediac River; his son, Walter Poirier of Shediac River; his two granddaughters, Mae and Mia; also several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Edith (Doucet) and his four brothers, Philippe, Henri, Alonzo and Pierre.
As requested by the family, there will be no visitations and no funeral service.
Donations to Canadian Cancer Society or to the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
