Moncton, NB –
Ronald Bourgeois, 88, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton on Monday, February 2nd, 2015, after a short illness.Born in Cocagne, NB, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Domethilde (nee Léger) Bourgeois. Over his life time, Ron was an active volunteer, commanding the Sea Cadets, a Past President of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 445 in Callander, ON. He hosted a program for the elderly on Radio Beauséjour. Running the Bingo and acting as President of the Shediac Golden Age Club. He was actively involved in l’Université du troisième âge. A member of the executive of the The New Brunswick Senior Citizens Federation
Ronald will be sadly missed by his second wife, Stella Bourgeois (nee Philippe); his son, Roy (Bonnie) of Ste. Catherine, ON; his two daughters, Paulette Courchêne (Bob) of Ottawa, ON, Renette Bourgeois (John Anderson) of Toronto, ON; his three brothers, Conrad (Mary Lou) of Orangeville, ON, Rodrigue (Jean) of Ottawa, ON, Bernard of Moncton; his sister, Mercia Biddiscomb (Edward) of Moncton; his second family, Denis Marquette (Willa Harlatt) of Moncton, René Marquette (Marie-Noël Ross) of Dieppe, Lyne Marquette of Moncton; by his six grandchildren, Chrysandre Courchêne (Fabio Nascimento), Marc Anderson, (Cristina Manase), Nicola Anderson, Stacey Rocheleau-Bourgeois (Angèle), Jessie Bourgeois (Nate Penetito), Rory Bourgeois; by his step-grandchildren, Gabrielle Ross-Marquette, Pascal Ross-Marquette; by his five great grandchildren, Riley, Jackson, Quinn, Koa, Alexander; also by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Yvonne Bourgeois (nee Roy); by his brother, Ulysse.
Visitations will be held at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Friday, February 6, 2015 from 10:30 am to 1:30pm. Funeral service will be held at the St. Joseph RC Church in Shediac on Friday, February 6, 2015 at 2:00pm.
