Dieppe, NB – Ronald Gallant, 77, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton, on Sunday, March 2, 2014, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Shediac Bridge, NB on November 4, 1936, he was the son of the late Amédée and the late Viola (Petitpas) Gallant.
He was a big fan of the Montreal Canadiens Hockey Team. He coached baseball and broomball.
Ronald will be sadly missed by his wife, Léa (Bourque) Gallant; his three sons, Joe Bos (April Dupuis) , Maurice (Carole Lamothe) both of Moncton and Gilles (Murielle LeBlanc) of Dieppe; his daughter, Jeannitta Williams (Gilles) of Notre-Dame-de-Kent; his three brothers, Laurie (Anita) of Dieppe, Léo (Précille) of Shediac Bridge and Normand (Noëlla) of Grande-Digue; his three sisters, Géraldine Bourgeois (Fernand) of Shediac Bridge, Angela Gallant (late Frank) and Yvonne Babineau (late Raymond) both of Shediac River; his five grandchildren, Lauran Bos, Mélanie and Luc Williams, Mathieu and David Gallant; also by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Emile.
Visitations will be at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 7 to 9 pm and on Friday, March 7, 2014 from 10 am until time of funeral. Funeral service will be held at the Passage Funeral Chapel in Shediac Bridge on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 11 am.
Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, to Canadian Diabetes Association or to the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
