Moncton, NB – It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Ronald William Cox at the Moncton Hospital, at the age of 82, surrounded by his loving family, on Good Friday, April 14, 2017, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Saint John, NB, he was the son of the late Leonard R. and Florence (Evans) Cox of Moncton.
Ron was a self-employed business man who travelled throughout the Maritimes. He was known for his beautiful smile and compassion towards everyone he met. He loved to salmon fishing on his property in Renous on the Great Miramichi River. He enjoyed hunting with his trained Britany Spaniel, walks in his maple grove in Grand Barachois and just being with his family.
Ronald will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Elva (Eva) M. Cox; his children, Christine L. Cox at home, Ronald D. Cox (Tracy Rundle) of Stewiacke, NS and Daniel T. Cox of Porters Lake, NS; his sister, Doreen LeBlanc of Moncton; Tracy’s son, Johnathan of Truro, NS and by several cousins, nieces and nephews; extended family, Burton Goodwin of Canmore AB and Phylis Richard of Moncton; his constant companion little dog Otis, will miss him dearly.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his two sons, Leonard W. and infant, James P.; his brother, John L. (Jack) and wife May (Bourque).
As per request by family, there will be no visitations at the funeral home. Funeral service will be celebrated at St. Bernard’s RC Church, 43 Botsford Street, Moncton on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10:30 am. A reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Friend of the Moncton Hospital Foundation, Alzheimer’s Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
