St-Édouard-de-Kent – Sophie Allain, 93, passed away peacefully at the Manoir St-Jean Baptiste in Bouctouche, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, December 1, 2012.
Born in St-Édouard-de-Kent, NB on February 27, 1919 she was the daughter of the late Sylvain and Osithe (Maillet) Allain.
She is survived by her daughter, Aurella Lirette (Charles Edouard) of Moncton; her son, Robert Allain (Bernice) of St-Édouard; four sisters, Geneviève Letreille (late Bill) of Fort Convington, USA, Marie Richard (Benoit) of Moncton, Hélène Richard (late Émilien) of Gardner, Mass, Noëlla Saulnier (late Denis) of Dieppe; her six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; also by several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Donat; six sisters, Émilienne LeBlanc, Octavie Vautour, Thérèse Cormier, Pauline Maillet, Emerise Allain and Anna Philipps; two brothers, Auguste and Michel; also two infant brothers.
Visitations will be held at the Ste-Anne-de-Kent slumber room on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 7 to 9 pm and on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 from 2 pm until time of funeral. Funeral service will be held at the Ste-Anne-de-Kent RC Church on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at 4 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Manoir St-Jean Baptiste in Bouctouche, Food Bank Distribution Centre in Moncton or to donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
