Umberto Bertolin, 80, of Moncton, passed away on Wednesday, March 6th, 2019 at the Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital, Moncton.
Born in San Vito, Italy, he was the son of Rodolfo and Luigia (Tonello) Bertolin.
Umberto had many vocations, but spent the majority of his life working as a welder for Apex, and finally for CN, as a member of their bridge crew. He was known for his strong work ethic and his unique sense of humour. Umberto loved animals and gardening, and most recently spent much of his time enjoying documentaries on wildlife and travel.
Umberto is survived and sadly missed by his wife (separated), Rose-Marie (LeBlanc); his 5 children: Rick (Patty) Bertolin, Danny Bertolin, Susan Cormier (Ron), Jimmy Bertolin and Marco (Kimberly) Bertolin; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Umberto was predeceased by his half brother, Primo Marin and brother, Giuseppe Bertolin.
No visitation at the funeral home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix Roman Catholic Church, 87 Murphy Ave., Moncton, on Wednesday, March 13th, 2019 at 11am, with a reception to follow.
Interment in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens, Moncton.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.

Au centre hospitalier universitaire Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont, Moncton, le mercredi 6 mars 2019, à l’âge de 80 ans. Il demeurait à l’Auberge du Soleil à Dieppe au Nouveau-Brunswick.
Né à San Vito, Italie, il était le fils de feu Rodolfo et de feu Luigia (Tonello) Bertolin.
Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse (séparé), Rose-Marie (LeBlanc); ses cinq enfants: Rick (Patty) Bertolin, Danny Bertolin, Susan Cormier (Ron), Jimmy Bertolin et Marco (Kimberly) Bertolin; 10 petits-enfants; 6 arrière petits-enfants, ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces.
Outre ses parents, son demi frère, Primo Marin ainsi que son frère, Giuseppe Bertolin l’ont précédé dans la tombe.
Aucune visite au salon funéraire.
La messe des funérailles aura lieu en l’église Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix, 87 avenue Murphy, Moncton, le mercredi 13 mars 2019, à 11h, suivit d’une réception.
L’inhumation se fera au Fairhaven Memorial Gardens, Moncton.
Un don à l’Association Canadienne du Diabètes serait apprécié par la famille.
La famille désire remercier le personnels de l’Hôpital Dumont et de l’Auberge du Soleil pour les excellents soins donnés à Umberto.
Les arrangements ont été confiés aux soins professionnels de la Maison funéraire Chartersville, 363 rue Amirault, Dieppe (857-1901).
