Scoudouc, NB – Vincent J. Hickey, 92, passed away peacefully at his home, on Friday, February 1st, 2013.

Born in Rexton, NB, on June 15, 1920, he was the son of the late Michael and Harriett (Babineau) Hickey.

Vincent was a beef farmer and worked for many years at Swifts Meat Packers. He had a great passion for horses. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed life to the fullest.

Vincent is survived by two sons, Mike (Helene) and Shawn (Johanne) both of Scoudouc; three daughters, Harriett Oulton (David) of Jolicure, NB, Charlotte Mcdonald (Jim) of Moncton, Joanne Korman (Steeve) of Halifax, NS; two daughter-in-laws, Martha Hickey of Shediac Bridge and Janet Hickey of Scoudouc; one sister, Rita Dixon (late Andrew) of Rexton; twelve grandchildren, Cheryl, Keith, Luke, Lise, Jimmy, Jason, Jennifer, Justin, Patsy, Paula, Patrick and Brian; nine great grandchildren; also by several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Rita (Connors) Hickey (2004): two sons, Patrick (1985), Jim (2008), brothers, George, Henry, Joseph, Bert and Ray; sisters, Loretta, Gertrude and Molly.

In respect to Vincent’s wishes there will be no visitations. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mercy RC Church, Ponte-du-Chêne, will be celebrated on, Tuesday, February 5th, 2013 at 11:00 am. A reception will follow for family and friends at the community center. Interment will take place in St-Joseph RC Cemetery at a later date in the spring.
