Willie E. LeBlanc, age 87, of Dieppe, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center, Moncton on Tuesday, May 1st, 2018.

Born on July 2nd, 1930, in Lynn, Mass, he was the beloved son of the late Edgar and the late Yvonne LeBlanc.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 65 years, Velma; his three children: Janice Poirier (Joe), Charlene McKee (Terry) and Daniel "Danny", all from the Moncton area. He leaves behind seven grandchildren: Réjean Poirier, Sylvie Belliveau (Rej), Jessica McKee, Kenneth McKee, Devin McKee, Devan LeBlanc and Jayden LeBlanc. He leaves behind two brothers: Henri and Roger (Aileen).

He was predeceased by one sister, Adelma and also by two brothers: Raymond and Leo.

Willie was a quiet, kind husband, father and grandfather, who was always ready to help family and friends in any way he could. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was so full of love and kindness. He was happy to share his family and life stories. He always had a smile on his face.

He was a retired carpenter. As a couple, they spent over 10 years in Bradenton, Fl, where he played shuffleboard and enjoyed bicycling. For hobbies, he completed several pieces of woodcarvings. He enjoyed being outdoors taking care of the flowers and tending to his ever growing garden. His daily activities were reading his morning newspaper, watching TV (especially boxing and the Montreal Canadiens).

Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe (857-1901) on Friday from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm and also on Saturday from 9:30 am until 10:25 am.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Saint-Anselme Roman Catholic Church, Dieppe, on Saturday, May 5th, 2018 at 11 am.

Interment in Saint-Anselme Parish Cemetery, Dieppe.

Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the CHU-Dumont Foundation                          would be appreciated by the family.

A very special thank-you to Dr. Bernard Godin. Thank-you to the Extra-Mural for all their care while he was at home, also thank-you to all the kind and caring nurses at the Palliative Care Unit of the Dumont Hospital.

Au centre hospitalier universitaire Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont, le mardi 1 mai 2018, à l’âge de 87 ans, est décédé, Willie LeBlanc. Il demeurait à Dieppe au Nouveau-Brunswick.
Né  le 2 juillet 1930 à Lynn, Mass, il était le fils de feu Edgar et de feu Yvonne LeBlanc.

Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse 65 ans, Velma; ses enfants: Janice Poirier (Joe), Charlene McKee (Terry) et Daniel “Danny”, tous de la région de Moncton; ses petits-enfants: Réjean Poirier, Sylvie Belliveau (Réj), Jessica McKee, Kenneth McKee, Devin McKee, Devan LeBlanc et Jayden LeBlanc ainsi que deux frères: Henri et Roger (Aileen).

Une soeur, Adelma ainsi que deux frères: Raymond and Leo l’ont précédé dans la tombe.

Les visites auront lieu à la Maison funéraire Chartersville, 363 rue Amirault, Dieppe, (857-1901), le vendredi de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h ainsi que le samedi de 9h30 jusqu’à 10h25.

La messe des funérailles aura lieu en l’église Saint-Anselme, Dieppe, le samedi 5 mai 2018, à 11h.

L’inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial Saint-Anselme, Dieppe.

Un don à la Société Canadienne du Cancer ou à la Fondation CHU-Dumont serait apprécié par la famille.
